Sporty Luxe is a catwalk look which is extremely wearable. It’s a look that combines comfort with a grungy edge. Alexander Wang has been channeling this look for the past couple of years, with Spring 2009 his strongest collection to date. Many of his key pieces included leggings, anoraks and oversized jumpers in a series of luxe fabrics in muted grays, blacks and pastels with the occasional slash of neon – a definite wink towards the 80s.
I love this mixture of grunge, 80s and sporty, it all combines into a very sexy look.
American Apparel is probably the best place to recreate this look on the high street. I found this Jersey dress while shopping online and it will look amazing with a black pair of peep toe platform sandals.

To complete the look scrap your hair off your face, leaving the back loose and messy. Eyes should be dark and dramatic while the lip is left nude. Stay well away from velor tracksuits and sovereign rings. Think luxe, not chavtastic.
