Sex and the City: Movie Sequel

Hooray…I have just found out that Carrie and Co. are definitely returning to the big screen for the Sex and the City movie sequel. According to the New York Times, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon have all signed new contracts for the next movie installment as well as Writer/Director Michael Patrick King. Apparently, the sequel is in the pipeline for 2010 and will begin filming this summer.
How exciting. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the SATC Movie when I first watched it, I think my expectations were ridiculously high, but I have since watched the film again (and again and again) and it won me over. I really don’t know where they are going to go with the storyline (maybe Aidan will make an appearance this time?) but I have heard rumors that no other than Britney Spears is going to make a cameo, possibly playing Carrie’s niece or cousin. This sounds like a bit of a publicity ploy to me but if it is true, then it will be mutually beneficial for all concerned. I actually think Britney Spears is a good actress, her stint in Will and Grace a few years ago was a stroke of genius. If she does turn up on the show, then I think she will do an excellent job.
