London Fashion Week – Mark Fast
2009.09.19
London based Canadian Mark Fast surprised everyone by using three size 14 models in his show yesterday. Finally, it’s good to see a designer quietly use models over a size 6 in their shows and not make a big deal about it – unlike Jean Paul Gautier who, back in 2006, threw a token fat girl (this girl wasn’t “normal” but grossly overweight at a size 20) down the runway at the height of the size zero debate, knowing that it would grab headlines.
Personally, I think all the girls in the Mark Fast show looked great. Fast’s knitwear looked hot regardless of the girls size. Gorgeous, tight crocheted mini dresses in fushia, blue, black and white. Some with fringing hanging down the length of the dress from the neck line, others with cut out pieces at the shoulder. The knitwear he’s creating really does speak for itself, but it’s good to see that it looks amazing on more than just the super skinny.

I totally agree that it is nice to see models with fuller figure in this show. Mark Fast show is really good and the knitwear is simply gorgeous.
Thanks
