Knee high boots vs ankle boots
2009.10.04
According to Jess Cartner Morley, Fashion Columnist for the Guardian, “the knee high boot is dead in the water”. A strong statement for something that is a winter staple for most women but while I don’t necessarily believe that we’ve seen the last of the knee high boot, I too have seen enough of the tired “skinny jeans tucked into kneed high boots” look – it has been done to death.
Ankle boots are so much more winter 2009. They are younger and fresher than the humble knee high boot, teamed with textured leggings, tights, shorts or cute dresses. The good news is that there are plenty of ankle boot options on the high street, a personal favourite are these open toed lace ups which are a steel at £30.00 from Matalan
If you still however pine for something a little warmer or don’t have the calves for ankle boots, then go for over the knee boots, again super sexy with shorts where a glimpse of flesh can be seen. I found these gorgeous suede studded over the knee boots at ASOS for £280. Just please don’t tuck your jeans in…
