Snoods make a return in Winter 2009

The snood is back. I remember, back in the late eighties, playing dress up with my Mum’s snood thinking how awesome I looked. Then again I thought I looked beautiful with a backcombed side pony tail too…
So imagine my elation at seeing the return of the snood on the catwalks this Autumn, featuring in fashion shows from Missoni to Burberry. They’re likely to be a big trend, not only because these designers are forcing them down our necks, but because they’re easy-to-wear and extremely practical - short of wearing a balaclava, how else would you keep your head quite so warm?

Wear the snood day or night, as it works equally well with an evening dress as it does with casual clothing. Just keep the colour toned down. This sequinned snood from Wallis is gorgeous and perfect for embracing your inner Grace Jones.
