Lindsay Lohan to expand 6126

Woman’s Wear Daily confirmed today that Lindsay Lohan’s 6126 leggings label is to become a fully fledged apparel collection in autumn/winter 2010. Lindsay also broke the news on her Twitter Account last Tuesday. Here are a few sketches that show the look that the fashion collection will have:
According to WWD:“The fall 2010 apparel line will comprise 100 pieces (spring 2011 will be 150) wholesaling from $18 for basic leggings to $300 for a leather jacket. Average retail price points will fall between $100 and $150. The 6126 leggings currently retail from $68 to $120.“
I’m not loving these sketches at all, they look quite amateurish to me. It must be extremely frustrating for all the talented and trained designers out there waiting for their big break, to see the likes of Lindsay Lohan being given these kind of opportunities based purely on her celebrity. Maybe all would-be-designers should dismiss the idea of going to Fashion College and try there hand at acting or singing first and fast track their way into the fashion industry.
It will be interesting to see if the expanded 6126 line is a success. Lindsay’s recent stint as artistic adviser at Ungaro, was not well received. However, the likes of Victoria Beckham and Gwen Stefani have extremely successful celebrity fashion lines, so who knows…

I find it cute but I feel tacky wearing one
