Blame YSL and their caged heels. They sparked the penchant for what my friends and I like to call “S&M” chic; you’ve probably seen them all over the high street - “hooker” heels, which are at least 6 inches, platformed and covered in anything from studded straps to leopard print.

According to Jess Cartner Morley, Fashion Columnist for the Guardian, “the knee high boot is dead in the water”. A strong statement for something that is a winter staple for most women but while I don’t necessarily believe that we’ve seen the last of the knee high boot, I too have seen enough of the tired “skinny jeans tucked into kneed high boots” look - it has been done to death.
