You’ve got to love Kate Moss in her natural environment – a good old Festival. This is the woman after all who made festival fashion an event. I love this look she’s rocking at Glastonbury 2010, granted she’s not pushing the fashion boundaries like days of old but I love her cowboy boots/military jacket combo so much, I’ve just gone and bought a pair of black cowboy boots on Ebay.

The quintessentially British Burberry Check Tote Bag

“London is our home – it is the heart of this global luxury brand and the center of all our creativity.” Quite so, Christoper Bailey (Creative Director of Burberry). Burberry’s niche has always been to produce high end pieces with a distinctiveness that sets them apart from other top labels. This is certainly true of the Burberry Check Tote bag.

The cotton canvas tote bag has an overdyed check pattern – distinctly Burberry – complete with belted leather trim and a polished metallic barbed wire chain around top adding more of a rock edge! The two rolled leather handles are attached to branded, shiny metallic buckle attachments and has a leather base with five feet. Delve deeper and you’ll find that the Check Tote bag has plenty of room to store all of the essentials, having a canvas lining, with one central zip compartment and one interior zip pocket.

The bag is part of this years Burberry Autumn/Winter 2009 collection which featured British actress Emma Watson. Burberry’s Christopher Bailey describing Emma as “the obvious choice for this campaign, who, like the images she fronts, has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. Emma’s charm, intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames.” Dimensions (if you must know!) are 40cm x 40cm x 15cm.

Emma Watson for People Tree

Emma Watson has been a busy girl recently; first becoming the face of Burberry, then upping sticks to the US where she is reading Literature at Brown University and now she’s releasing her own clothing line, collaborating with ethical fashion label People Tree.

By having Emma collaborate with them, People Tree are aiming Organic and Fair Trade fashion to the 16-24 age group. Emma is quoted as saying “I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there.”

I agree that there is a serious lack of ethical labels making affordable yet funky clothes. I have always been a little put off by “ethical” labels, purely because I feel that they sacrifice style to focus on the organic/fair trade aspect of their clothes. I usually prefer buying vintage to do my bit but looking at what People Tree offer, their range is surprisingly good and very wearable. Especially their dresses and knitwear.

I’m interested to see what Emma comes up with for People Tree. It will be interesting to see if she can come up with the goods and reaches her potential.

Emma Watson and Robert Pattinson?

Emma Watson and Burberry are a sensible pairing. Burberry’s Creative Director, Christopher Bailey describes Emma as “the obvious choice for this campaign, who, like the images she fronts, has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. Emma’s charm, intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames.” It’s a shame really, that this “sense of fun” hasn’t really translated on film. Emma looks a little bored in these shots.

Mario Testino shot this campaign and Emma does look lovely (if a little blank) but personally, it’s all a bit safe for my liking. I do however, love the new line – that brown leather trench is amazing.

How amazing does Emma Watson look in this photo shoot for Vs magazine? I like how she’s playing on her little girl image; it almost looks like she’s gotten into her mums make up.

I’m not sure who did the styling on this shoot but the photographer was Ellen Von Unwerth, who has also shot the likes of Dita Von Teese, Claudia Schiffer and Christina Aguilera. I love her work and if you have some spare time take a look for yourselves: Ellen Von Unwerth.
