You’ve got to love Kate Moss in her natural environment – a good old Festival. This is the woman after all who made festival fashion an event. I love this look she’s rocking at Glastonbury 2010, granted she’s not pushing the fashion boundaries like days of old but I love her cowboy boots/military jacket combo so much, I’ve just gone and bought a pair of black cowboy boots on Ebay.

Highlights of the British Fashion Awards 2009

From all accounts, this years British Fashion Awards was quite a night. The evening, which topped off the 25th anniversary celebrations for London Fashion Week, attracted an A-list line-up of celebrities, including Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Twiggy and Vivienne Westwood.

Victoria Beckham was in also attendance, showing some love for British fashion stating that: “I love British fashion. I love the way people in Britain will really push the envelope, and it’s always really exciting to see who’s going to be the young British designer”. Victoria, as canny as always, wore one of her own creations at the event, and looked stunning. A great walking advertisement for her fashion line.

The highly publicised London 25 Award, which went to public vote to recognise the “individual who embodies the spirit of London”, was given to Kate Moss (no shock there then!). Christopher Bailey walked away with the “Designer of the Year” award for the second time, winning it previously in 2005. Georgia Jagger, daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, was named “Model of the year”, beating off stiff competition in the form of Daisy Lowe and Rosie Huntington Whiteley. I would have preferred it if Daisy had of won as I think her look is far more interesting but that’s just my opinion.

My heart does go out to the fabulous Karen Elson, who took a tumble off stage and fell into the orchestra pit when presenting the “Isabella Blow Award”. Afterwards, Karen declared that:”I am the clumsiest person on this earth. I cannot believe I just did that.” Keep your head up Karen and laugh it off – these things happen to the best of us.

The British Style Council invites you to cast your vote.

This year, the British Style Council has invited the public to vote for the winner of the “25 London” award. An award created to celebrate 25 years of the British Fashion Awards and to recognise an individual who embodies the spirit of London.

17 lucky individuals have been short-listed for the award, including Super Model Kate Moss and veteran designer Vivienne Westwood. The winner will be announced on the 9th December 09

Kate Moss for Topshop

Kate Moss for Topshop Spring/Summer 2009

Kate Moss continues to build her brand with yet another Topshop collection; her ninth in total. Having reviewed Ms Moss’ latest offerings I have to say that this collection is very similar to it’s predecessors – never too polished with a hint of vintage influence. There are lots of pretty patterned dresses, glam rock touches on jersey fabric and obligatory skinny jeans.

I’m sure this collection will fly off of the shelves regardless of the fact that Kate follows the same formula time and time again. Young girls everywhere want a piece of that Kate Moss magic – she still has a huge influence on the wardrobes of young girls and will continue to be Philip Green’s cash cow for the foreseeable future.

My favorite piece is this Liberty print dress – apparently Kate raided the archives of luxury department store Liberty, which inspired several pieces in the collection including this dress.

Lindsay Lohan for Fornarina Spring/Summer 2009 advertising campaign.

One time friend of Kate Moss, Lindsay Lohan has put her best modelling foot forward in the new Spring/Summer 2009 Fornarina advertising campaign. The Italian fashion house, which is opening a new flagship shop in New York, is obviously hoping that by using Lindsay they will hit the right note with American consumers. Their press release describes Lindsay as “Young, beautiful, eclectic, with great talent and a great personality, Lindsay Lohan immediately appeared as one of the few in the show-biz able to represent the glamorous style of Fornarina”. Hmmmm…

Lindsay looks great in these shots but I am not too sure about the styling. The denim outfits are a little too much for my sensibilities and they don’t seem resonate with Lindsay’s own personal style.

Kate Moss has been one busy little bee, racking up more high profile ad campaigns. Cavalli, Versace and Stella McCartney have all used Kate in their Spring 2009 campaigns.

I absolutely love this shot for Just Cavalli. It is stunningly beautiful and just shows why designer after designer still fight to work with the girl from Croydon.

FYI – what else is interesting about this particular shot is that the male model Kate is resting her tired little frame upon is no other than Miley Cyrus’s current beau Justin Gaston. I wonder if any more shots of the pair are going to be released? Justin can’t be too thrilled that in his biggest modeling gig to date his head has been cut off – close Justin, but no cigar.
