Top Fashion Blogs that we adore!
We at Mi Fashion would like to think that, in our readers opinion, we might be one of the top fashion blogs around! That said there are certainly fashion blogs out there whose style of design and quality of writing inspires us.
Fashion blogs through time…
Fashion blogs have been with us for sometime now. As early as September 2003 at least one fashion blogger had been invited to New York Fashion Week. They are now accepted as a mainstream outlet for the fashion press, many bloggers being invited to prestigious fashion events around the globe – unfortunately this fledgling fashion site is yet to get an invite, but hey, Cinderella may get to go to the ball one day!
Today many media organizations have top fashion sites and the best fashion bloggers are being offered mainstream media positions as the blogosphere becomes increasingly influential; publications such as the Guardian, New York Times and Fast Company.
The best fashion blogs around today…
So on to our pick of the bunch; the blogs that really get our pulses racing.
The Sartorialist
Street fashion has recently made its way into the world of blogs. An increasing number of blogs now feature fashion on real people, and show how trends are applied in the street, The Sartorialist being the best example of a street fashion blog. The Sartorialist is a fashion site created by New Yorker, Scott Schuman. After leaving a fashion sales position to take care of his daughter in 2005, he began carrying a digital camera around on the streets of New York City, taking pictures of people who had dressed in some way that caught his eye. He truly is a pioneer in the street fashion genre.

Manolo’s Shoe Blog
Manolo Shoe Blog. How does one explain Manolo the Shoeblogger to someone who’s never visited his wildly popular internet site? Well, take two parts high-class shoe fetishist, one part Ricky Ricardo, and one part Jacques Barzun, a dash of Ignatius J. Reilly, shake vigorously and decant liberally, and you’ve got Manolo the Shoeblogger.

Style Bubble
The www is full of fashion blogs, but few are as insightful and all-encompassing as Susie Bubble (real name: Susanna Lau). She beats the competition because of her range of subjects, depth of knowledge and the fact that she blogs at least once a day. Bubble was one of only two bloggers invited to Gucci’s Unicef bash in New York this year. Next stop: the front row.

Go Fug Yourself
It’s a neat word, fug – just a simple contraction of ‘ugly’ and its preceding expletive – but from those three letters an entire fugging industry has grown. At Go Fug Yourself, celebrity offenders against style, elegance and the basic concept of making sure you’re covering your reproductive organs with some form of clothing before you leave the house are ‘fugged’ by the site’s writers, Jessica Morgan and Heather Cocks. In their hands, the simple pleasure of yelping ‘Does she even OWN a mirror?’ at a paparazzi shot of some B-list headcase in fuchsia becomes an epic battle against dull Oscar gowns, ill-fitting formalwear and Lindsay Lohan’s leggings. The site stays on the right side of gratuitous nastiness by dishing out generous praise when due (the coveted ‘Well Played’), being genuinely thoughtful on questions of taste and funnier on the subject of random starlets in sequined sweatpants than you could possibly even imagine.
